"When signing a PDF: 'The Windows Cryptographic Service Provider reported an error: Key does not exist.'"
How to fix it
Adobe Reader DC sometimes can't see the CAC private key. Open Adobe Reader → Edit → Preferences → Signatures → Identities & Trusted Certificates → set the default signing handler to 'Windows Certificate Store' (not 'Adobe Default Security'). If that fails, uninstall Reader DC and install Reader XI.
