Symptoms

After installing a new middleware, the old module is still active and the browser uses the wrong one.

Likely cause

The previous module is still registered in Firefox Security Devices or in the NSS database.

Fix

1. Firefox > Preferences > Privacy & Security > Security Devices > select old module > Unload. 2. For Chrome/Chromium (NSS): modutil -dbdir sql:.pki/nssdb/ -delete "CAC Module". 3. Load the new module - in Firefox via Security Devices > Load; in Chrome via modutil -dbdir sql:.pki/nssdb/ -add "CAC Module" -libfile <path>.
